is it Vista?

There was soemthing about this, where you just rename the EXE and it runs if I recall correctly

With UMD Stream Composer are you getting errors when converting to .MPS or is it just not starting up at all ?

In  \Umd Stream Composer\bin , try and delete:

UmdStreamComposer.exe.manifest and see if starts up.
