Cool, the most ive gotten was about 500KB/s.

Just for the record, your isp would affect your speed far more than your router. In fact I don't even think a human would be able to tell the difference.
But what if your router sucks and you get bad signal, therefor slower speeds ?
If you have a good router with good signal you get the best of the ISP.

Now then, that's only if the line is TERRIBLE - USUALLY, if the line is quite bad, it simply makes it unstable.
I'm working on a Line stapled to the wall rofl...... used to be awful, because I was too far away from my ISPs Central - but my problems seem to have magically gone the past week - they must of either A) Fixed Something..... or B) Installed a new Central Point [Telefonica opened more than 300~ across Spain this year alone]
Oh - and max 100KB/s

the most ive ever got to is 1.5mb/s down and i get that nearly all the time depending on servers and the amount of seeds and things.
i have 16mb/s connection by the way.
