A friend of mine who owns a psp (3.80 m33-5 like mine) told me that I can play ps1 games on my psp slim and that all I need is to install the popsloader, a bunch of other stuff, and to enable the popsloader whiel the PSP is in recovery mode.
I installed everything fine, it decrypted, the procedure went well, and he gave me a couple of his ps1 game files and told me to put them in the PSP/GAME folder.
From what I know, these files are supposed to be .PBP files put in the GAME folder or ISO files and put in the ISO folder. However, of all the games he gave me, I have one (Tomba) that came in a folder with two files. One is a .BIN file (it doesn't say KEYS.BIN) and the other is a .cue file.
My question now is, what am I supposed to do with these files? When I check the properties of the .BIN file it says it's an ISO file. No matter whether I put it in the ISO directory, the GAME380 directory, the GAME directory, it still won't show up on my psp XMB anywhere.
What am I supposed to do to get it to work?
Just on a side note, Is your name Eric?
and you would use the cue file to mount the bin with an optical drive emulator. From there you would use autopopstation or a similar program to rip the virtual disk into a .pbp
but if he did indeed give you the disk you could just put it in your cd tray and have autopopstation do it for you without the need for the bin or cue file
at least I think

Haha, nope! I'm a chick :P
Hmm, that makes sense actually. He didn't give me the actual cd, just a cd with a game folder with those files in it and I had to transfer them to my computer. How does one use the cue file to mount the bin? I'm not using a pc, but I'm pretty sure if I knew the process I could figure it out in Toast, it's pretty much just like Nero.
That unfortunately I don't know. I tried to look it up but I could never figure it out. Most people won't talk about it because you usually don't need that procedure unless you don't actually own a copy of the disk and since you suposedly don't have a copy of the disk it means its illegal which means people might get in trouble.
Anyway long story short I don't know. I know of a cd rom emulator program called Daemon that some people use but like I said I don't know much more than that.
yes the .bin is just another extention of .iso... if you have the folder already converted to psp it should go into the game folder.... if all you have is the bin and cue the you have to you a program like zingas converter program to make it a psp playable game...

Oh no, I actually own a copy of Tomba for my old school hardcore gray playstation one from back in the day. It was my very first PS1 game! I just don't have a computer that can do all this stuff since I have a MAC. This kind of depresses me because I love that game and don't know how else I'd play it unless it's on the PS2. :\

Thanks! I think I'll just stick to playing it at home on the PS2 XD this is too much of a hassle (not simple enough for a nub like me).
I'm not saying you don't. I'm just saying people don't like to talk about it because its getting into the illegal area.
Like I said though I still don't know much about read Azumi's post. She said Zinga Burga had a program

No, no. I totally get it :) It's cool. Thanks!
Thanks for all the help guys. I just used my mom's laptop and my cd and figured it out on my own. :)
