Ok first thing...I'm pretty sure you won't brick your psp with a pandora battery, because the pandora does nothing by itself...
you could do what I did...Buy the extended battery pack as an upgrade anyway and then gut and hard mod the old battery.
and I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if you use a phat or a slim battery.
but if you're thinking of useing your friends normal battery or something, don't unless your friend is okay with you cutting his battery in half and making it unusable normaly.
There was a really nice kit that I used on how to do this...I'll see if I can dig it up for you.
