Yeah, I'm too lazy to search (well deeply) so just wondering if anyone knew anything.

When you try to play an embedded MP3 in a webpage, Firefox will ask you to download the QuickTime add-on.  Now I personally think WMP and QuickTime are really unnecessary bloat, so I'd prefer not to.
Are there any other plugins available for Firefox, for the task?
(By the way, I have WMP uninstalled on this computer)

I personally don't need it that much, so it's not much of an issue.  I just want to test some stuff (I'm planning to write a web script which can play some sounds without using Flash).

Thanks :)
For Embedded there wouldn't be because of File Licenses etc.

I doubt you could make a non-advanced language MP3 Player.

If you do....... well..........................
I believe, for file formats, most (including MP3) are free for personal use.  Thus players don't have to be licensed, but if you're going to use MP3 in a game that you're going to sell, for example, then I believe you'd have to pay a license fee...

But thanks anyway :P
Sorry I phrased that wrong, more like the Application Licenses - and now that you mention it, it is odd that no free alternative for interactive internet applications is around.
me i just installed the wmp javascript addon for firefox (very hard to find)

now when i click a music file(if idm doesn't prompt me to dl it)
it will play in the same page as it would normally do
Oh, I think those just hook into downloads and just place them in-browser; not run <embed> tags.

Meh, don't worry about it - I didn't really expect anything anyway - just found it peculiar that QuickTime was the only thing Firefox accepted.
