And this benchmark seems to favor duals a lot more than quads. Zinga has a 2.4GHz Core2quad. And he only beat you by 300 points, when you got a 2.8GHz core2duo. 0.4GHz vs 2 more cores, I would've expected a much bigger difference. But that does somewhat reflect real life though, since most things can't utilize 4 cores at the same time.

EDIT: Actually, the new core2s (like yours) is probably faster per tick than the old ones (zinga's 1st generation Q6600), so that probably helps explain the above somewhat. But even considering that, I say still pretty biased.
i see. so what do you think of the benchmarking?
Editied the above post.

Well, the benchmark does many things, and a lot of the things can't use all 4 cores, and that's why his scores got brought down in comparison to yours. But that's sort of fair if you look at it in a real life perspective, because most of the things in real life canon't use 4 cores.... yet.

Definitely a good score for a laptop though.
Ima see if I can beat my old score with my new laptop......

I somehow doubt it, though it has a greater clockspeed..
Shame you got a HD4650, if you're gaming.  Apparently HD4670 is a lot more powerful but only slightly more expensive.  Does save a bit of energy compared to the 9600GT, but then, the 9600GT beats the HD4670 as well.
wonder what mine will get

9600gdo 1gb
2.33ghz core 2 duo 6550 i think
7gb ddr 800-833 clock ram

sooon my core 2 quad q9550 will arrive :3
hmm. Having problems with PCMark05 on Win7 x64.,,, somehow not a surprise but a number of tests fail..... no score.

This can be fixed with XP/Vista compatibility mode, but I notice it chokes one or two test performances badly.

yeah, but i didnt really have a choice. i was in a price range, and to upgrade the graphics card meant upgrading to a different notebook model, so i couldnt...

Im quite happy with what i got though. it runs oblivion beautifully, and i can also play my linux fps games at max quality, so its all good. Madwin

Plus, it is a laptop, and keeping that in mind, its already really powerful.

You need the 32bit WM Encoder for PCMark.

And why did you completely remove XP? Same logic as what I said to trademark...
