never usually the case - I've only ever read 1 tutorial, for gloss when I was making AIO Applications, nothing in particular for signatures, I learned a lot off other GFXers, namely.............................erm.......

Well I walked tight into that one, SkyDX taught me how to work with text.. and I suppose the inspiration for the actual signature comes from the Render most of the time. Like my "Organic Beauty" Signature, it was the render that caused me to do what I did.

Experiment with the tools you have in Photoshop, get some brushes and patterns from Deviantart, a render if you like from Planet Renders and get to it.

Good Luck xero1
GO DEFAULTS LIKE ME NOW!

And read alot of tuts. Sensei took the long hard way. If you read tuts NOT BE AN APOSTLE TO ONE. read some and understand how some things work, once you do use the ones you like on a sig, not following one tut only. EXPERIMENT IS THE KEY!

Hah, 'long hard way'? I pity your opinion, diego.

If you want to know how things work - you press F1 while running Photoshop.

I stick to a more colourful, soft painting like style, so I use the default brushes a lot, but it can be extremely impactive when I want it to be.

It seems I haven't really seen what you're really like, diego, if you have learned styles off multitudes of people... your jumping from one thing to another...

Wee agree on one thing though - Experiment and Experiment to the point you love the work you've done.
Yes good good!!!!! With your current sig...try to blend the images more into the background and with the outer glow make it white....... :D :D :D :D :D
Yes experiment, I do not tend to stay on one style alone because all the works will start to look bland and all the same, so I jump, I also try to stay away from the 'trends' because it will look like everything else.

Just to let you know, I first started playing with PS when I was 10 and skipped school and went to my dads office. I made lighting strike GodZilla and printed it.

Then I started reading tuts, read A LOT, but NOT following them in every detail. I learned from others like this.

And Sensei, what would you like me to do then, stick with one style and stay with it for sooooo long?

Having your own style doesn't mean sticking to the same things constantly.

I don't want to have to argue about this anyway, its unnecessary.
Well, I have been experimenting, and I made a new sig.

See 1st Post
i like it, its really good.

however, IMO your name shouldn't be that big, it should be small and mostly hidden while see able if wanted to, having the text like that removes the focal, and distracts the viewer

also, you may want to reduce the opacity of the reflection (the face)... its also distracting from the main focal...
Awesome for a first sig.

Thank you for the tips, is this better?
