Quote:Microvision is working with business partners to enable better viewing experiences for mobile device consumers. Sharing photos, watching movies, and giving presentations using the small screens of today’s devices limits our ability to imagine, entertain, and share.

PicoP is an ultra miniature projection module capable of producing full color, high-resolution images but small enough and low power enough to be embedded directly into mobile devices such as cell phones, portable media players, digital cameras, portable computers and more.

For manufacturers who wish to bring to market next generation mobile devices, Microvision provides a PicoP display engine that can meet your exacting OEM requirements. PicoP display engines are engineered for OEMs and made available through our supply chain partners to meet high volume production needs.

Quote:Think the iPhone’s 3.5-inch screen is big? How about a handheld with a 100-inch screen? That’s the promise of Microvision’s PicoP laser projector.

By bouncing pulse of red, green, and blue laser light of a vibrating mirror, the PicoP can paint WVGA (848x480-pixel) images up to 100-inches diagonal in a dark room—or about 12 inches under bright lights—on a wall, tabletop or any other surface.

I predict a five minute battery life.
i predict batteries as big as backpacks
the ones ive seen only do about 5 or 6 inch projected images , a bit bigger then the psp screen.. no where near 100 inches but i know that will come around someday... but think abou this... your gonna see alot of stuff your not going to want to see with this and its going to be funny as hell... get a phone that plays web videos and go look at some of that sick hershey kisses and you can broadcast some nasty stuff in public.. not to mention if they can put it in a phone and make it affordable, imagine what else they could put this in... psp2 maybe? wouldnt that be nice!
