Mornin'. Its sunday, and I just woke up. I have this world literature essay due in tomorrow, but I've already done all the planning so the only thing that's left is to write it. I plan to go into the city to buy some stuff as well though, which will take me at least 2 and a half hours. There's an arcade I sort of want to go to as well but I don't know if I'll have the time.

I'm just looking at my iCal and besides this essay I also need to completely sort all my paperwork I've been handed this year so far for French. So here's a to-do list:

- World lit essay (2 hours)
- Buy stuff (3 hours)
- Go to arcade (1 hour)
- Sort out french work (1 hour)
- Buy binder for french stuff (20 mins)

And here's my plan:

11:30 - 13:30: World lit essay
13:30 - 14:00: Eat lunch
14:00 - 15:15: Travel into town
15:15 - 15:45: Buy stuff, buy binder as well
15:45 - 16:45: Arcade
16:45 - 17:45: Travel home
17:45 - 19:00: Free time and eat dinner
19:00 - 20:00: Sort out French poo poo
20:00 - 21:30: Do whatever
Around 22:00: Sleep early

Let's see if I can stick to it.
wow that's all in your iCal? i can't even remember to do the things i put in there, let alone check it
Nah I just have my timetable in iCal then when I get the homework I make a new event that overlaps it, so when I check my subjects (I still don't know them by heart) I see the homework due.

You're doing the IB program?
Alright slight change of plan. I've actually been doing work for about the past two hours, but it was really hard to keep concentrating and not wander off, and at some points I would just sit and stare because I couldn't work anymore.

It's much harder and more work than I thought, and I'm now about halfway at 683 words. I'll need at least another hour or 90 minutes, but I can't concentrate anymore so I'll just go eat lunch and do it later. Also, my parents and brother are playing in a big tennis cup all day which is supposed to be fun, so I'll act as if I like it and go watch them for a little while. New plan:

13:30 - 14:00: Eat lunch
14:00 - 15:05: Watch tennis
15:10 - 17:45: Go to city and buy stuff
17:45 - Dinner: Try to write something
Dinner - 20:00: Fix my french stuff
20:00 - 22:00: Whatever

I was.

And then I decided it wasn't worth it, and that I'll get a higher score using the normal system, so i quit. Luckily, the system here allows flexibilty to swap from the IB to the normal program without any loss. (what you've did for the IB counts as credit, so I won't need to re-do anything)

I'm in uni now. Acturarial Studies.

Some of my friends are deciding to leave too. Our school switched completely from A Levels to IB for the last two years, so there's no choice. I actually chose IB because A levels only lets you have 3 or 4 subjects. In Holland, the normal system at the level I was doing it (VWO) you get heaps of subjects, I had 8 I think. So the Dutch unis want something similar. I would need at least maths, probably physics, and english and dutch. In Holland the requirements are at least Dutch, English, and a third language (French or German, sometimes Spanish), Maths, either Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, an art, etc etc, and one more subject (I had Physics and Management for those two). If you want the ultimate highest level on your diploma you need to do either Latin or Ancient Greek or both, I used to do both but I dropped Latin. So that amounts to urrm 8 subjects not including the compulsory stuff that was PE, and something like Cultural studies (for me that changed into the enormously boring 'Classical cultural studies' because I did greek), and maybe something I forgot.

So to have only 3 or 4 subjects would be too limiting, and with IB i have 6 chosen subjects, TOK and PE. I'm doing English standard (too bad it won't go lower. I could do it as a second language but then I'd have to do Chinese as a first language, and I don't speak a word Chinese. I hate literature, I'd much rather learn to write better letters or something), French standard, Philosophy standard, Physics higher, Maths higher and Business & Management higher. I have to do Dutch outside of school, but that isn't too bad.

I don't think it's much harder than what I did in Holland but in Holland I didn't do anything, and now I do have to (if I still lived in Holland I would have had to get working like spoon as well).
Yay! I managed to do all my shopping and more in less time, so I got an earlier ferry which saves me 30 mins.

I bought a new PC!
Well, I bought a new PC case.
Well, I actually just placed an order for one.
