Uhh is't it EPIC FAIL,.!? the ps3 80gig was able to play PS2 games,.. now some emo chip has been removed and you won't be able to play ps2 games,.!?

They removed the chip to keep costs down, now the 80GB plays PS2 games through software emulation. The 40GB can't, but were not discussing that now, are wee? lol

into that subject let me ask, i know that the ones with the chipsets have better graphics than the emulation ones, but some buddy that noes jack spoon about spoon says that the older ones have that problem with the graphics, lately he's actually been right about a lot of things, and i fear this is one of them is it true?

Well, he would've been right, if it was summer 2007. That was a firmware problem at the beginning. They have long since fixed it. And the software emulation does everything the chipset does, it just requires a bit more processing power, which isn't really a problem. Graphics and all.

oh i don't mind it overheating a bit from processing usage, i can just buy a fan, or mount one myself
then i got to go out and find an 80Gb anyways because i need to play GT5 Prologue, and GTAIV, which come out like way before MGS4
