My personal opinion is that genetic engineering, unlike nuclear weapons, can be used for doing good things. But, its certain that it will escalade into a big problem for humans. The rich will be able to create perfect children which will grow up only to become rich themselves, which will cause an even greater division of humans and will ultimately be on the same threat level to humans as nuclear warfare, global warming, terrorism etc (terrorism being the least threat imho)

Terrorism isn't really even a treat.
Your previous examples like nuclear warfare and global rising can cause massive amounts of damage. Terrorism does like what, kill a few people very year? What is that compared to Nuclear warfare, which would be very damaging and global rising, which can potentially sink cities... Terrorism is only a nusience. Not a threat.
Maybe if wee stop srewing with the middle east countries, terrorism wouldn't even be much of a problem.

I agree, though terrorism seems to be on the public agenda (and therefore, it might prevent funds from going to global warming and counterterrorist actions might trigger a nuclear war)
