Has the recovery folder/file been broken ?
With earlier custom firmwares wee could run an eboot from the recovery menu and install that firmware but I can't get that to work now, is the only way to go back down via pandora ?

Hmm still can't get it to go back to 3.80, the screen goes black and the switches off.
What Firmware Are You On Now ?
recovery folder is only meant to put you on 1.50
Thanks for everyones help. I'm on 3.90-2 M33 and it doesn't want to reinstall 3.80 or what ever firmware version I try via recovery (I remember it working the past though, v odd).
I will stay on 3.90, I only wanted to go back to 3.80 as its easier to change/edit themes as some editors are not compatible with 3.90 yet.

in my case, i backup all M33 firmwares.. 371/380/390.. i can go back anytime
i use mind nand backups with a pandora's battery to switch between firmwares.
why not use the pandora's method?

I don't have a spare battery or memory card (I had another but it split - fake card I bet).
I guess its pretty useful to have as backup, as I'm starting to flash themes (Only used ptf's before). I will have a look around and see if anywhere sells a battery + card cheap. I will avoid ebay though.
In the meantime I will stick with 3.90.
use boosters multi IPL loader, you can have pandora and normal ipl running simultaneously
And i only have 1 nand dump, but ive only been to 3.71, if i were to upgrade i would keep seperate nands, as it makes downrading easier
