I got a "new" iMac today! I had ordered it saturday. I was going to get the red one, but I got the blue one instead and I love it!
Specs:
450 Mhz PowerPC G3
Slot-loading DVD-Rom
Blueberry color
384MB PC133 Ram
40GB Hitachi Deskstar 3.5" Harddisk
USB 1.1
No VGA
No Firewire
100MB Ethernet
The first thing I did when I got it home was tear it apart of course. I knew exactly what I wanted. Well, I can tell you, this machine is certainly a piece of Apple genius, they don't make em like this anymore these days. The whole case is made from acrylic and some other plastic, there's not really any metal involved. And it's really heavy, if you've had to lift a big monitor (you know, the fat kind) you'll know what I'm talking about. It's really well put together, but on in the monitor side there's plenty of space. I could probably fit a Mac Mini in there, lol!
The thing was dirty on the inside so i cleaned the whole case inside out piece by piece. Then I added some lights I bought :P Attached them to the case with velcro, and routed the cable down to the pc side to tap power off the harddisk. Put it all back together, tested it, tweaked the light button a bit because the hole for it wasn't perfect (it's nicely hidden under the handle though). Then ofc, pics! Jump to flickr for all of them, this is just a modest preview with the lights on.
