It probably should work, but it's hard to say, not knowing exactly what your graphics card is.
Just go Start » Run » dxdiag and check the Display tab.
if you need more info use CPU-Z (google) a free tool that tells you everything about your processor, memory, mainboard etc. it has a section on your graphics interface which might help too.

I have a demo copy, does that count? Oh, and I played it for ~5 minutes... Looked more intuitive than AoE2, but not enough to get me interested (I generally prefer fantasy over realism).

i can win on expert! (hardest level)
but i was losing in the points by a lot
i can win aoe2 as expert easy
