Well, the only ones I've played before are Neopets (about 8 years ago) and Utopia.
Not saying that I will make one, but I am kinda considering it.
Does anyone have any ideas for such a system though?

I do remember this Pokemon RPG thing at PokemonCrater or something (may still be there).
I only really went there for a while cause it was so easy to cheat (there was like no form input validation).
Level 1000000 Celeby (max level was like 100) would easily kill any opposing Pokemon.. :P

You pokemon is unoriginal, but its one of the only concepts (in its basic form) that static RPG's can follow really...any MMO cannot be limited in character types, and everyone has to have equal oportunity, whoch makes it very similar to pokemon, no matter what your actually collecting
