A slightly more informative write up.
meh, I have my Eee-PC, it's far smaller and does cost nearly £1200 when you add in the bits that make it passable..

I've been thinking about getting an Eee-PC. Are they worth the money?
Also, the MB Air just seems a bit pointless. Sure, it's thin, but it's flimsy. It doesn't have an optical disk drive built in, you have to use an external one. Plus, one of the features that is absolutely necessary in the other MacBooks, the upgradability and self-service, is gone. The Air is sealed shut like an iPod. It's far too expensive for the specs. I mean, you pay an extra $400 for a laptop that's not nearly as powerful as the Macbook. I'd much rather get a Pro and get my money's worth.

The Eee is the perfect tool for me, easy to mod, cheap as hell and quite sturdy.

Yeah, my parents are getting a MacBook Pro for me as a graduation present before I leave for art college, but I still want to get an Eee in the near future for a multitude of reasons. For instance, it would finally be a chance to try Ubuntu, plus if you do the 3G mod, internet anywhere. hershey kisses on the go! :P
I mean, MacBooks are great for the kinda work I'm gonna get into, but it's nice to have other options, especially when those other options are so cheap. By the way, this may sound really wierd, but what kind of surface is the case? Is it matte, gloss, or what?

It's matte and it won't scratch easy either.

Okay. Y'see, I've always wanted to take a white laptop and put an elaborate design on the shell in permanent marker or spray paint, just to customize it. It's been a small dream of mine :P
UG, I believe that you've just convinced me to buy an Eee. :D

OMG
I think it moved a little...

That would be quite doable on the Eee, especially since it is so easy to take all the bits apart.
