By the way, can you upgrade the hard drive? If I had something that size with a ~60GB drive, it would be orgasmic.
There is no hard drive, it's 4Gb of flash. That's why people put internal 16/32Gb flash stick in it.
I see.

by the way, anyone esle notice how off-topic wee got? Wee went from talking about Apple's overpriced Eee rip-off to the Eee itself :D
It is my goal to corrupt all threads about crappy apple products so that wee end up talking about just how great the Eee is. :)
I'm curious, how exactly do you go about upgrading the Eee's storage? Is it like a reader you put a card into or something?
Heres a link to explain how to do all the different mods available (Storage, wifi, bluetooth, GPS, multicard reader, etc)

macbook air, badass i want one now too
this one is called.  Laptop Slim :P =^_^= just like PSP Slim

to tell you the truth.  this laptop is actually stronger than the computers I've been using till now =^_^='
Ill explain to you exactly why the macbook air is shit.

Have you even looked at the specs!
It has a 13" monitor, the bare minimum but makes sense cause its sposed to be light.
It has a 1.6ghz CPU. This is nothing. For comparison, the cheapest macbook has a 2.0ghz CPU that is much better overall as well.
It has 2GB ram, which atm isn't bad at all BUT ITS SOLDERED TO THE MAINBOARD.
It has ONE usb port, a video out port, and a sound output. THAT IS ALL.
It has NO CD ROM DRIVE.
It has ONLY EIGHTY (80) GB of hdd space, MAXIMUM. you can "UPGRADE" this to 64GB. yes, that's called an upgrade. cause its SSD.
It quite obviously has the same, rather unuseful integrated graphics as the cheap macbooks.

In other words, it has the same or less as the cheapest macbook, mostly much less, and costs MUCH MUCH MORE.
Not only that. there is NO WAY OF EXPANDING IT EVER.

One usb port. I have two on my macbook pro, which ANNOYS ME TO NO END. One is occupied by my wireless mouse, so theres only one left for flashdrives etc, especially at home when u want to connect an external harddrive (which you do, because theres only 80 or 64 GB of space), so then u can't to anything else. And it gets worse, cause theres NO CD DRIVE, but u can get an external USB one, which already takes up your ONE SINGLE port!! by the way, chances are you're going to need a dvd drive on a daily basis, so you'll have to drag that along as well taking away the whole thinness point of the thing.

Another thing. 80GB may seem like enough now, but it isn't. Why do you think they don't sell 80GB drives any more. It's no alot really, and no way you're going to spend all that money on a system like this and just ' use office and store documents '.

So cause ur USB port is more than occupied, the ram is soldered, u can't even open it at all, u can't take out the battery, theres no expresscard slot or anything, no firewire, no nothing, if something breaks, or if a new technology comes out in the next 1 or 2 years (and it will, like wireless usb), then you JUST HAVE TO THROW AWAY THE MACBOOK AND BUY A NEW ONE.

also, its not really that interesting that its all thin and light. it's still big, and its only 2 pounds lighter than a macbook. it's not like any normal person can't carry a 5 pound laptop. and ur not going to be carrying just the laptop. u'll probably need a dvd drive. u'll most definitely need a usb hub. for a long day, even though the battery is supposed to last for 5 hrs, u might need the charger, and chances are, if u do anything with media or something ull need a portable harddrive. or, you could just get the macbook pro, which is CHEAPER, outperforms the air by 5000000x, is still good looking, isn't flimsy, can have 250gb harddrive, has a real dvdrw built in etc etc.

End of rant.
Anyone who decides to buy a Macbook Air needs to go drink the blue soapy liquid under the sink. Anyone even considering spending $3100 on a laptop that only has 64GB and is weaker than it's 2-year-older brother is a disgrace to humanity.
