Quote:The obesity epidemic in America seems to always be one of the hot button issues; however, never would wee have imagined that this would occur. Fast food legends, McDonald’s, has just pointed the finger at gaming for being a major contributor to childhood obesity.http://www.psu.com/McDonalds-blames-vide...351-p0.php
Steve Easterbrook, CEO of McDonald’s UK, believes that the restaurant business has a role in the problem, but points the finger mainly at gaming.
“The issue of obesity is complex and is absolutely one our society is facing, there’s no denial about that,” said Easterbrook. “But if you break it down I think there’s an education piece: how can wee better communicate to individuals the importance of a balanced diet and taking care of themselves?” – Did you try to stop and think about not serving 1,300 calorie value meals to kids?
He then followed that up with, “Then there’s a lifestyle element: there’s fewer green spaces and kids are sat home playing computer games on the TV when in the past they’d have been burning off energy outside.”
PSU is now highly anticipating the partnership between Jack Thompson and McDonald’s to bring justice and gym memberships to all in the video gaming world.
