Okay, my C drive was getting a bit full and my programs started to run a bit slow, so I decided to clean up a bit and defrag. The cleanup added a few more GB's to my free space, but nothing really significant. The defrag didn't really do anything significant either, but it did give me a list of errors in compressing and moving files. I went on a bit of a hunt, finding all this stuff, and discovered that most of it was stuff that I got rid of last year! Basically, files I deleted using programs, like iTunes movies and WMC recorded TV shows and such, WERE NOT DELETED. The files I found were eating up over 40 GB of space! Now that I got rid of all that poo poo, I have about 70 GB. Now I finally don't have to worry about having enough space when installing new games and programs :D

A word of wisdom: if you have to delete a file, delete it from explorer, not whatever program you were using like iTunes. Also, if you're HDD seems oddly full, check it thoroughly.
cool
Yeah, most programs' delete feature just moves it to the Recycle Bin.
Some supply an option to turn that off.
Shift + Delete
you have so little idea what's on it, i think a reformat is in order...

Some sound advice there eggroll :)
reminds me of my music collection. i found "the simpsons sing the blues" the other day. where the hell did that come from! also my old computer, it had a 40Gig hd and it was geting a bit cramped. so i did a search for big files and folders. i found the audio to the italian job as an uncompressed wav file plus the audio from many other films and uncompressed wav's. that freed up about 20 gig!
WOAAHHHHH 20 GIGS OF CRAPPY TUNES not good man. lol simpsons sing the blues

Naw, I think I got it all taken care of.
I always go shift+delete on everything from explorer. Funny thing, though, I check my recycling bin once in about 8 months and will occasionally find some stuff that I must have not held down shift fast enough on, and will end up freeing up about 1-5 gigs.  Glad ya resolved that :)
