Hi guys, I stumbled upon Ar Tonelico, seems to be an awesome PS2 RPG!
I'm about to "get" it, just a question, is there a way to squeeze the game on a DVD5? Because the last time I tried out a DVD9 backup (GT4) my cheap chip PS2 ended up on the "Red Screen of Failure" Has anyone actually tried the Toxic DVD9 patcher, I heard it will patch the layer break or something to make DVD9 games work...

If it's designed for dual layer (and actually uses space to cover more than 1 layer), i don't think there's an easy way to put it onto single. U can try to hack it, and remove/replace some stuff, like video files and things. I know almost nothing about hacking PS2 games, so i can't help u.
U can always try removing some files, and seeing if it works, but most likely, it will probably screw it over in some way.

but it's great game... for something that is 2d...

Thanks for the help, I will just give the Toxic DVD9 Patcher a shot and burn it on a DVD-DL, hopefully I will not end up on the "red screen of failure" I will post my results, but I need to "get" the game first..... damn slow DSL1000... it's gonna take the whole day <.<
EDIT: Damn I feel dumb >.< the game isn't on a DVD 9... I just thought every rapidshare file is 100mb which wasn't the case here..... sorry that I have bugged you :(
it's the fact that remove important movies before, and the game would crash at that point.

Well since it's a normal DVD5 game, everything went out fine..... I played it for about an hour now.... it's DAMN GREAT! I like the World, the Characters, the Atmosphere, the Style and the Battle System looks like it will get great later. The Story seems to be good too. Seems I finally found an RPG that I want to play to the end again^^
that's the only reasons i kept playing this game.
i have played the game though and have started an second game. (good thing is it only creates one save file on your memory card)
Hell..... it's just awesome! the longer I play it the more addicted I get to it.... I now know what you meant earlier^^

Not that far, since my mother keeps bugging me with stuff <.< I'm at the part where Lyner got captured and Misha rescues him...
