Sony Got Owned
1. Take UMD out of drive.
2. Charge Battery 100%.
3. Disable all intro mods and plugins.
4. Backup Memory Stick onto pc.
5. Reformat your Memory Stick.
6. Restore default settings.
7. Flash update.
8. Boot into recovery, change settings.
9. Check firmware version.
10. Repeat steps 5 & 6.

it's mostly if you were worried about flashing, free space and memory card backups i suppose
