Endless Paradigm

Anyone here know how to change the paths for the my documents, my music, my pictures folders? I ask this as I keep all that on a seperate drive and its getting a bit annoying alwasys ending up in the wrong place.

Since My Music and My Pictures is in the My Documents folder,you can right click on the My Documents folder-» properties, and type in a new target folder location, or select move. If you want to change it back, just select restore default:

ooh, didn't know it was that simple. I thought it involved regediting etc... thanks.:D

Sorry the My document folder was fine, It's only th My mUsic and My Photos folder thatr need moving. Can that be done?

Not sure if there's a simpler way, but you can do it with Microsoft's TweakUI, part of its Power Toys for XP.

PSPkiller, If you want to change the paths of individual shell folders,

Go into the registry and go to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER» Software» Microsoft» Windows» CurrentVersion» Explorer» Shell Folders

right click to modify and type in the path you want for each folder and restart.

After restart move the folders to the new paths.
