QJ.net Wrote:The Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew development scene keeps on surprising the video game world with its leaps and bounds in terms of creativity and ingenuity, and this update is no different. Behold - DarkRayne's jigkick battery, made from a Sony PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite battery, and he's got a video to prove it.
Wee're still not sure how true this one is, so wee're filing this one under rumors for the time being.
Of course, as wee really can't understand Polish, wee can't verify at the moment if this is a legitimate claim or not - but the video itself does look convincing. Note that he shows everything from start to finish, making it clear through various times in the clip that he is in fact using a PSP Slim & Lite's battery.
How did he do it? Details are scant, but according to DarkRayne himself, he used a software modification process to "pandorize" the battery itself, and not with a hardware modification.
A little bit of refresher for those of us unfamiliar with a JigKick battery: it's basically a battery used for unbricking a bricked PSP, or downgrading a Sony PSP with any firmware version. Until then, please note once more that wee're filing this under rumors, so let's not try anything with our Sony PSP Slim batteries just yet. As wee're all waiting, you can go ahead and check out the video in the embed below.
