Hehe, I've seen some pirated DVDs which use MPEG-1 streams >_>
I don't mean the massive black strips on the top and bottom on VCDs when they fit 16:9 to 4:3.
I mean the little bit of black boarders that is usually on the sides. Almost all the anime DVDs i ripped have them (they're commercial DVDs). Like only a few millimeters on each side. Generally, u can't see them when watching on TV, but on computer, it's quite visible.
ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote:Ahh, typesetting. Not too hard actually.
I've used it a few times for those karaoke subs. Takes a while to synch everything, but after that, generally programs like Aegisub can automatically do typesetting for you, once you give it a template.
I kinda find it enjoyable :)
Didn't think it'll be very hard, just thought it'll be very time comsuming.
Good thing the subs u rip from the DVDs already have the timings all done, (although i generally find them like ±1/2 second off, so i generally do an adjustment). The fansubbers need to do all the timings too.

Really odd that a commercial DVD would do that however.

He means like this, where the bars along the side and top/bottom are a few pixels.
