i don't use them anymore.
i still i need it badly
why you need DL managers so much???

YAY im gonna go broadband internet now YAY no more poo poo Internet Provider!
because it changes my average dl speed from 50kb to 260kb
i thought many parallel connection means downloading more than one file at once
or is it download managers/accelerators cause they split the file into pieces?

anyway, i think all dl managers allow you to set the number of parts of the files, so wee can set them to 1

they split it into many parts and download the parts simultaneously and this is SUPPOSED to increase download speed. . . but it doesn't for me so I don't use them . . . and YES you can make it just one peice BUT you will ju8st get the same speed as downloading it using IE/firefox . . .IMO

That's because your internet is capped at that speed. It won't go any faster.

U say u go at 40kbps. That's dial-up right? Nothing will make it go faster.

If your connection can support it, having x multiple connections should increase your speed by about x times, until you hit the limit of your internet connection.

No.  It depends on many other factors than that.  Parallel connections only work if speed is throttled per connection, ie shared.
If wee assume the server isn't bogged down, and you're not using a "shared" connection, parallel connections will probably have no impact on speed, even if you're not maxing out your download speed limit.

Generally, for home connections, you should have little reason to use more than a few parallel connections.

Under normal circumstances, if the speed is not throttled, then u wouldn't even consider parallel, so it's a natural assumption.

Say that to those people who use 40 parallel connections :P
