Endless Paradigm

As I was disabling the icons and shadows on my topmenu this morning, I had an idea...

The tex_fcs_.bmp  Flashes on & off behind every icon, making it look like its got a strobe like glow behind it.  In theory, why couldn't this be utilized to add a few sprites that flash on & off, giving the icon the illusion of being animated?

I will test this theory as soon as I get some more free time.  Maybe it will work?  

It's an interesting concept... Could be one more thing wee can pimp our XMBs with :D



EDIT:  It works !! Well sorta... lol  The sprites flash on and off perfect, but I can only seem to add white sprites...  Wee will have to see what ZingA BurgA has to say about it... Maybe there would be a way to add color to it?  I uploaded a gif, you can see where I done it around the memory stick icon

Animated XMB Icons would be cool, good luck with that

I thought it was obvious you would be able to do something like that....

Dunno about the colours...  Try it without the background, and don't use a large flashed background.

Could be that the glow icons are "4bit" MIGs - may have to check on that.

Yes, actually my XMB is a "Theme in Progress".  So I won't actually be keeping the font. :)




I actually made something that shows the idea off a little better....  Now lets see some cool icons come out of this!  :D
