I have dial-up and it connects around 50Kbps. What about you guys? Also, do any of you have bandwidth limits? I don't.

This line 8Mbit down 768kbit up with a 60Gig cap.
Downstairs download server has 24Mbit down and 1.3Mbit up with no cap, though they do occasionally send me letters asking me to please stop raping there network.

why have 2 different internet connections? can always use router/LAN...
Be line is owned by me and used for downloads, BT line is owned by flatmate and used for gaming. That's why.
I thought it would've been more efficient to make a deal and share the line rather than have separate ones...
Gaming requires low latency, torrents/usenet naturally disrupt that.
Given the shear amount of stuff downloaded through our main connection it made sense to get a separate one for everyday things.
