Thanks for the tip, I shall be playing with Ubuntu then. I need to go back through some of my old DL.TV episodes, there was one they did about a graphical shell for linux, but I hear it can get pretty advanced.
There be plenty o' different GUI options fer LINUX (Gnome, KDE, fluxbox, beryl, list list goes on an' on) an' if ye be lookin' fer somethin' shiny an' be havin' a good graphics card in yer rig (especially if 'tis an ATi card) then get Beryl 'tis fully 3d an' fudgein' gorgeus;
If ye want instructions on how t' intergrate Beryl into Fiesty Ubuntu (7.04) then check thar forums but ye need t' know quite a bit about yer graphics card setup t' get 't workin', o' course ye could be patient as sea dogs an' land lubbers be workin' hard t' be havin' beryl intergrated into ubuntu fer th' next major release.

Being able to stick windows onto a rotatable desktop is interesting though.
An' what's wit' yer dogee accaent mate?
The accent be on accoun' o' 'tis international talk like a shipmate tide, an' 't tookst me a while t' get beryl runnin' th' way I like 't but 'tis so worth 't, especially when ye be havin' nosy swabbies lookin' o'er yer shoulder an' ye hear that "wow"!
Dude, Beryl is it. I remember Patrick Norton and Robert Heron were talking about it last summer. Problem is, Robert is pretty good with this stuff, but even he was having issues getting it right. But it's had a year to get some things fixed, might be worth trying.
