i was practicing some depth using c4d's (as you can see, at some parts the background c4d gets over the render)

well heres a tip with depth. . . you want to make you render stand out more so the things in front and behind it will be unclear. . .
so what you do is blur the background and the thing in between you and the render just a bit and it will have a better feel of depth.
