I'm not sad to find out about this news, because I was expecting it to happen and I'm not getting a slim PSP anyway (unless my current one breaks and it's hackable.)
I will be getting a psp slim still
Im still getting one too.
O well, I didn't expect it to really work.
It seems as if Sony has well and truly blocked it in their new firmware v3.6 which will ship on every new PSP Slim & Lite.
i cannot agree with you, the patch wasn't applied to the fw, maybe some security checks were done, the only thing who stops pandora's battery to work on the new psp slim is the new mobo, and if they only had patched the fw, then the pandora would still run with no problems
well the question is CAN team C+D and noobz do it. .?

ill only get a slim if I get bored of IRshell, AND me psp brakes because of hardware issues.(And if the slim is hackable.)
That would suck. But it really wouldn't make any sense to do because that would make it hard to put it on PSP v1's
According to my opinion Sony changed the data in the battery-eeprom.
The PSP-Slim&Lite has more RAM and FLASH, why not a bigger eeprom with other data in it ??
I think the only thing wee have to do is, reading the eeprom from an original PSP-slim-battery an change the data. Like the pandora battery data.

It's only an idea... it could be true or false, nobody knows it :S
but didnt they test it with a PSP1 battery?
if its reading from a different value for service mode perhaps??
