it shows agp , then over to the right it has ddr(pc3300) or (pc3000) then after that it shows a screen with a lot of numbers or something to that affect, at the bottom it has press control and f2 to enter ezflash that's all i could see before it went to the windows xp screen, i don't know if that helps, but that was all i could catch.

you can activate hibernate mode on some computers and on others you can activate standby mode which basically means the machine never fully shuts down unless told to. however only hibernate when used doesn't show that screen. that screen is always shown when booting from scratch and in some machines all the text can be hidden but it means reading your bios manual (if you have it) or going to the makers website to get the manual which shows you how to change that feature.
any more questions post back.

i have both hibernate and standby turned off,the only problem with that is this computer has different parts on it , some was from my old computer and some from another computer, the guy who put it together, put the harddrive that's in it now, was from another computer so i have no idea who the maker is of some of the stuff on here, would it be microsoft that i would look at to see if they have the bios manual??

no you need to know the maker of the motherboard and the model of it. now the black screen at the start tells you that information so just restart the machine and get the name and model then search from there.
