i bet u sony's gonna start comming out with new batterys,

who thought wee would find an exploit in batterys 0_o
Double post
wait, does this mean i shouldnt use my 4gb?
p0op just tried it over at hacks, he bricked his psp and ran this with a 4gb memstick.  He just now posted saying he can't run homebrew right now, I'm waiting to hear why.

EDIT:
readme.txt Wrote:REQUIREMENTS
- A spare PSP Battery. Any make will do. Using a spare is best, as it
will not be possible to boot the PSP in its normal state with the
  modified battery.
- A spare Memory Stick Pro Duo of less than 4Gb. (256Mb should be
  enough for all applications).
- A PSP with a Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC, or a PSP with
  the 1.5 original kernel.
LESS than 4GB. 1.50 doesn't support 4GB I believe.

Original post follows.

Multiple Choice: So, what will come of this? (1337 Points)

A) Sony is suddenly going to see a huge surge in PSP hardware sales.

B) Sony is going to see a somewhat significant drop in PSP software sales.

C) Sony is only going to pay attention to Part B.

D) All of the Above.
Ten, I think that was a typo.  Osiron23 says he was in touch with DAX, and quoted him as saying:

Dark_Alex Wrote:It works on 4 GB. It won't work in +4GB one because of the recovery firmware being 1.50 kernel based... however that's a matter of luck, it actually "could" work with a 8 GB, but not warranty of that.

Also, in the notes, it states the result will not be a full 1.5 firmware, but just enough to get you going, this may mean you need to upgrade to 2.0, then back down.  p0op is doing so now, I'll post what he finds.
wow, all I'm gonna say is that this is one for the books, i am proud to be part of the psp community who has to this day made sony bend over whether they want to or not, and as soon as i saw this thread i imagined sony beeing brutally raped in the a$$, not literally for those of you with sick minds, but metaphorically :he:
EDIT: Games like a Grrl posted pretty much exactly what my theory was.
The part I'm most surprised about is that batteries are "writable"...  I would've expected some other process to generate the ROM.

lol same here. i thought they were just big electricity filled plastics and metals.
This is great news!

I now have 3 psp's
What's also surprising is that third party batteries also seem to work.

Fanjita was using a Datel one or something.
