This is weird sometimes when I transfer files to my PSP its fast but then sometimes it goes slow, you think its my computer? Because i tried using a different usb cable and its still like that.
When it transfer slow, on the psp its reading that its receiving the file then it stops and memory stick light stops blinking and like after a sec. or more its starts blinking again and starts recieving the files then stops it stops again then receives.
USB driver issue most likely, what version of windows are you using and what type/model of computer is it?
could be both, i got two computers, one of them is 3x faster when transferring data between my MS and cpu.
when you transfer a big file like an .iso, it will go quicker because it is only one file, but if you are transferring a homebrew game or multiple small files, it takes longer
Im using Windows XP and my model is hp pavilion a408x.
Sometimes on certain chipsets USB hardware hybernates and doesn't fire itself up again properly making it go slower, you could try these steps to fix it.
1. Click Start, and right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties, then click Hardware.
3. Click Device Manager.
4. Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
5. Right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties.
6. Click Power Management.
7. Unselect Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
8. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 for each USB Root Hub.
9. Click OK, and close Device Manager.
Other than this ben3gfc is very right transfering multiple files take a hell of alot longer than one big file and always make sure your machines BIOS is upto date (latest version id available on HP's site

^ Never actually seen that kinda issue. Interesting.
USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports maybe? Could also be a fake memstick. Try other USB devices to see if you get similar problems...
