This guide shows you how to decompress a prx-file manually (with an Hex-Editor) :rules:
For more information visit: recompress PRX's - Thread

First try to decompress your PRX with 'prxdecrypter' --- if it returns something like
Decrypting VSHMAIN.PRX » Output unexpected » Failed to decrypt » Deleted
use this guide to decompress it.

1.)  Open the PRX with your favourite HexEditor
2.)  Select only the data from (offset)0x150 till the end of the file
3.)  Save the selected data as "filename.gz"
4.)  Open and extract the *.gz-archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR and rename it to "filename.prx"
-» now you have the decompressed(decrypted) PRX

I hope this helps some non-prx-experts
to do theyr PSP-modifying :wink2:

SHIFT-Key Wrote:2.)  Select only the data from (offset)0x150 till the end of the file

i usually just highlight from from the top to 0x150 then delete that section then save
its easier and quicker than highlighting everything from 0x150 downwards
