if you have the appropriate tiny Philips screwdrivers, it is a very easy repair to undertake. Then you'll be able to play and charge ;)

there's the disassembly tutorial :)
and as with any electronics, touch a radiator before starting to remove static from you.
I don't I have the appropriate screw driver but maybe I'll find one if I look hard enough.
Bump.
Next time, I'm going to follow a video tutorial.

I had trouble on the step
You have to remove the ribbon from the board. It is attached to the board by a lever system. In other words, there is a flap like tab that holds the ribbon in. You have to flip the tab up (very carefully) and then pull the ribbon out. If the ribbon isn't coming try flipping the tab further up. If the tab is up completely then the ribbon moves with ease. Sometimes unseating itself in the process. Here is the Location of the Ribbon Tab..
Thankfully, that time I was only trying to salvage the charger block from an old non-working PSP no one cares about.
EDIT: Didn't notice that the forum that this thread was originally posted in is now closed. So I moved it.
Oh I'm glad everything worked out
Sparker

I haven't put the new charger block into my PSP yet, so not all is resolved yet.
I'll be rooting for ya mate
Progress so far.
I removed most of the screws on the back connecting to the face plate except this one I think I striped the screw head of.
Boy, did I screw up. (pun not intended)
UPDATE: I got the new charger block in and put the PSP back together but now the screen is black, I'm going to try put it back in properly and see if it works afterwards.
