you don't need xmb to recover to 1.5 look at the bottom of that thread, it tell you how to recover to 1.5 via recovery

no, I'm using the american version of all firmware i use. After a long night of tinkering, i got my psp to stay on 3.40 OE-A. Now, I'm gonna try the 3.52 M33 update versoin 1oh, thank god, it worked. now to re-try 3.52 M33-2it works, yay! Thanks for all the help
