Sorry but I don't understand this guide because I'm german. Please can someone make a vshmain.prx (3.52 M33-2) for me with this font color R: 0 G: 191 B: 255. The Hexcode for this Color is #00BFFF. Thank you very much

guide Wrote:Now get the file size of our new compressed file in hex + 01.
00 00 00 00 = 0x05
now remember that number

?
Oh okay, got it. GZip implements the deflate algorithm. The PSP basically supports two compression methods, deflate (gzip/zlib) and RLZ.
Cool find :)
So... I'm still kinda curious about what the benefits are when using, for example, a recompressed paf.prx as opposed to a paf.prx that isn't recompressed?
Is smaller filesize the only benefit? y/n?

for a paf i think that's the only benefit but for a vsh.prx it means saving space + no need to patch you homebrew with patchsfo.
@ diego_429: So why do wee need to use PatchSFO when wee are using an uncompressed vsh.prx?
I also read something about not needing the pspbt***.bin files that come with some xmb themes if the .prx files are recompressed, why would wee not need those anymore if the .prx files are compressed (or why do wee need the custom pspbt***.bin files when wee use custom uncompressed .prx files?)?

when using a decompressed vsh.prx the homebrews don't load and need to be patched to work. . .
yeah also you won't need to change the bin files anymore because normally there is 1 vshmain.prx but the bins allow you to use vsh.prx and vshmain.prx. . . . if compressed wee can save space and only use the vshmain.prx.
So if I download a theme with uncompressed .prx files I will only need the vshmain.prx and not the vsh.prx if I compress the vshmain.prx, correct? And I won't need to use any .bin files either and homebrew will still work as normal (I won't have to use PatchSFO)?
I'm sorry that I have so many questions, but it will be really helpfull for me when I start fooling around with .prx files in any eventual upcoming themes.
