I'd have expected it to be at least rated M, I mean, like, there's a scene where the girl almost gets raped. There's other scenes of girls "having fun" in the bath and a heapload of other references...
Okay, maybe the kiddies can watch that, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a number of M rated shows be a lot more mild than that...
If I remember correctly, Azumanga Daioh (or however it's spelt), is rated MA15+ here...
When I checked it wasn't.

Yes it is... Look at the MA15+ logo on that screenshot...

Oh, and I have personally never seen that show before, so I have no idea if it is justified or not, but from what I've heard from others, it's supposed to be aimed at younger audiences?

But I swear when I last went to a DVD store it was only PG

lololol.
Yeah there are a few characters named after cars in that anime.

Yeah, but our Subaru:
Other one I heard of was Iron Chef Suzuki (don't drive him up the wall - he'll kick your arse (at cooking)).
- has wheels
- goes on roads (in the air)
- ...but can't fly
- transports people (at least in the first ep)
- is blue and flashy
- has lots of gears/metal parts
- ...which require oiling
- is always ahead of the pack (duh, cars are faster than runners)
- etc...

Well well, there are some great laughs to be had.

Added 4 more:
Tsukuyomi Moon Phase
Reasonable story and method of telling. Although there's little jokes and stuff around the place, it does somewhat feel lacking in between the main story events. A bit random at times :P
Kanon 2006
In many ways, similar to Air. I personally enjoyed Air more than this though, as I find the overall story stretched a bit too long here (and I found the little "cutesy" aspects of characters a bit annoying after a while). However, as it shares many of the good qualities of Air, it's an enjoyable watch.
Mahou Sensei Negima
Well, I guess this story is different in a way. It has its fair share of randomness and amusing bits, but doesn't quite get up there with Love Hina, and the setting put together is a little quirky. Ending wasn't particularly satisfying either.
Kodomo no Jikan
Well no surprises - as you'd probably expect, lots of loli fanservice. Kinda amusing, and actually holds this for longer than I had expected, but in the end, still dies down to a drama which doesn't work too well with this show. Setting is rather dodgy as expected.
