Another very enjoyable episode! Desperate to see them play and improve now.

Glad that weirdness between Kumiko and Reina has seemingly cleared... it was starting to grate on me already.Hafroze
Soo as I told Sensei I was going to watch this too and caught up by now! :D My posts might seem a bit backwards as I'll write this one first and then my general opinion in the club thread because Ep2 is 100% fresh in my memory^^;; The episode was very enjoyable overall, I really like their supervisor, he seems like a mellow and nice guy who cares about what he does and I loved how he let themselves decide. I think I know what Aoi-chan was going for with her vote and the whole "alibi" thing, thinking if they fail to reach the competition again she can just say "Told you so..." :/ In general I found the atmosphere was again kind of  tranquil otherworldly but I'll elaborate on that more in my club post, the art was top notch in episode 2 aswell again. Other than that I'm glad  Kumiko and Reina got their silly little weirdness aside as Sensei said and I definitely like Kumiko more with her hair tied back but I suppose her natural hair is a bit more special. And yeah I can't wait to see them improve and play now either!^^

The crisp KyoAni visuals, and vibrant colours are amazing to view (in 1080p ofc). And the episode progressed nicely IMO.

Also nothing like a good cliffhanger at the end! Lots of room for development, and an unconfirmed amount of episodes too.

The art is definitely top-notch and beyond, typical KyoAni, I would almost like to say it has movie-like qualities! :D

Looking forward to seeing the brass band club level up now... and what was with that conductor guy? Thinking about Kumiko? xD

Yeah that was interesting to see, the typical happiness is shining through but it definitely has a more mature and reserved feel to it, especially with the quite heavy impact start that got feathered by Kumiko's initial reaction, the beginning confused me at first but started to make sense later on. Also good question as far as Ep 1 goes^^; xD

best character

Teehee Asuka is definitely in the run for that, I love her quirky weirdness :P

As for the episode and anime in general, it has a very interesting atmosphere to it thanks to the artstyle, mellow feelings and the lighting and coloring. For some reason it feels like KyoAni mixed a bit of Chu2Koi with K-ON! and added a hint of Persona 4 Golden, that's the best I can describe it. The lighting especially with the color palette and the many scenic shots give the anime a sort of otherworldly feel for me which is interesting for a slice-of-life anime. I really want to see how this progresses beyond the first two episodes :3 As far as characters go I like them all so far, Kumiko makes a nice lead as she has the funniness but is in general a bit more calm and thoughtful. Sapphire-chan and Hazuki compliment her perfectly in that regard with their own brash and silliness along with shy and cuteness. Asuka seems like there's more to her than meets the eye but I might be mistaken here I just love her character so far and I'm very interested in how Reina turns out to be, my initial impression was very Mio-like in a way, I wonder if I'm right with that :3
I really enjoyed episode 2. Cuteness abound and the characters' relationships are progressing nicely. Really looking forward to how this series develops. :)

Exactly why I like her a lot - but she's not free from getting easily flustered either - as a slip of the tongue and and Reina have shown! ^^

Yeah you're right, she has a interesting balanced mix but I bet as they get closer to each other her funny side will weight a bit heavier^^
This one was quite feelsy, since you see most of the band members being lazy and Kumiko realising that something's utterly wrong with the band, with Kousaka's solo at the end added to the feels.

Best scene though
