So I'm sure a number of you know about the epic hack Sony Pictures received earlier in the year.

I must say that I have some mixed reactions over this.  One, they somewhat had it coming for their absolutely poo poo security and past policies, but then, having employee details leaked is a bit harsh.
On the flip side, all the fuss over the recently released movie is full of lulz.

Discuss.
Clearly it was an elaborate hoax to get some publicity for their "Interview" movie. :o
But surely there's better ways to get attention than to strip yourself naked and dance on top of a parade car before shooting yourself in the foot...

Or maybe not if you're masochistic enough.  Sony possibly falls under that category.
If people want it, then they'll hack it. It would have been the same if it was any other company publishing the movie.

Has anyone seen the movie? My guess is it'll be funny if you are a fan of Rogan and Franco, otherwise just a B rate comedy like usual?
I expect so Grey Ghost. Silly humour.

Fortunately I'm a fan of Rogan/Franco movies so I look forward to seeing it, but it's not a priority!

Given what's happened Sony Pictures seem to have coped - wonder if they will finally sort out their security woes?
I feel as if some anon got in just for the lulz - he sure did get plenty:
- lol at crappy Sony security
- lol at Sony losing heaps on leaked movies
- lol at Sony for all the legal ramifications they have to deal with, including leaked trade secrets/deals
- lol at FBI blaming North Korea for hacks, based on seriously flimsy evidence (and the conflict caused between the two)
- lol at NK's internet being taken down
- lol at movie theaters for being easily threated
- lol at fear of terrorism
- lol at Americans claiming that watching The Interview is a sign of patriotism

Tis possible that the one who did the hack, and the one who threatened to terrorize movie theaters are different people.
