They're probably rebuilding it from scratch to make it into 3D. Although Nintendo used the word new when referring to the Legend of Zelda remake they did.

Well that looks really cool. I think ill be getting this.

I hope it stays true to the orginal though. I don't mind the world being rebuilt in 3D as long as the content remains the same and they don't change to much.

Call me old-school but I loved all the original Pokemon games up until Emerald. The 16bit pixel graphics were awesome and Emerald was pretty dam perfect as is. Hope the remake remains the same.
