Time to put the downer on it...
ANOTHER pokemon game, really?!
Here's my 2 cents:
Pokemon comes out. Red, Blue, Yellow. 151 pokemon. Some people like it, some don't. Fine. (I, at this point, love it)
Then they release Gold, SIlver and Crystal. An extra 100 pokemon. With valid reasoning - undiscovered species, pre-evolution, previously unknown evolution for some pokemon (Scyther to Scizor for example), and baby pokemon. This works, it's plausible, and those games were very enjoyable.
But then it just gets stupid. More games, more pokemon, with no real explanation (other than the reality explanation - $$$). How many times can they re-hash the same game? How many pokemon are there now, 500? 600? I switched off, because it reminds me of films that just won't die. For example, the Nightmare on Elm Street series. The first one was great, fantastic premise. 2nd is watchable, you know the premise, but there's a slight twist. Then they drag it out for another 4 films, which takes a comedic turn, before they come up with a fresh new twist. And even then that wasn't enough, the original was remade (and butchered at that) a few years ago. FFS!!!
Now I'm sorry for the film rant I went on there, but it's a similar thing. I do also realise I may get hated on for this! But surely, does anyone share this opinion? Surely someone else can agree it's getting ridiculous?
I'm off to bed.
