Well as wee all know on here, Megaupload got took down a while ago. But the owner Kim Dotcom has said that he has a 'new' Megaupload project where by he say's that it won't be using .com but instead .Ga (Me.ga)
It is to launch on January 19th (Maybe), which is exactly a year after it got shut down!
Kim Dotcom is not using any domain names that are linked to U.S Services or any U.S Hosting Providers.
Quote:“Unfortunately wee can’t work with hosting companies based in the United States. Safe harbour for service providers via the Digital Millennium Copyright Act has been undermined by the Department of Justice with its novel criminal prosecution of Megaupload.”
So anyone glad Megaupload is back?
I didn't really miss it in the first place, but it was annoying when some places still had MU links despite it being dead.
i dunno. theres no source link.

Me.ga
It was in the title,
Looks good
The thing is, will he change his name to... Kim Dotga?
Though if he pisses people enough, he'll get arrested again despite using foreign hosting.
Wait I thought this guy was like the Pablo Escobar of pirating and was in jail. Did he just get house arrest.

Well he's been suing the authorities for quite some time now, so not really. I think they just arrested him mostly for show rather than anything else, since his servers had been seized beforehand...

Free broadband coming to New Zealand courtesy of Kim Dotcom
Quote:Dotcom has plans to resurrect Pacific Fibre’s failed project to construct a fiber optic cable across the Pacific to the US.
The new line will bring free high-speed broadband to New Zealanders and double the nation’s Internet bandwidth, setting Dotcom back about $400m.
That’s a pretty big chunk of cash, which raises the question of where he’ll be getting all of the funding.
Me.ga will take care of part of it, along with the help of a few investors, but Dotcom plans on getting the majority of his funds by suing Hollywood studios and the US government for their “unlawful and political destruction of [Megaupload]“.
Well I guess once you're on the public stage, may as well abuse it for PR.
I didn't care when it went down but it kinda sucked that the pirates had to ruin it for other people
like the guy who made the universal darkness psp themes (vincentwiliamphilips)
they were awesome themes but they can't be downloaded anymore because they were megaupload links :(
piracy is a b*tch
i hope it doesn't ruin this new megaupload
