Someone has put together a timeline chronicling the creations, deaths, and f.orks (why is that replaced?) of GNU/Linux distributions throughout Linux's history. The timeline is available in PNG, SVG, and an archive containing all the data and resources required to build it yourself is available for download.
While I'm on the topic of Linux, if you need to run Windows applications, CodeWeavers has announced that CrossOver will be available for free as a download, for anyone, for the day of October 31, 2012. The Mac version will also be available.
