Whenever I think of demonoid, the issue just genuinely floors me. From what I heard, the ukranian government DDoS'ed demonoid as a gift to the US Government.

I can't think of anything more COMPLETELY FUCKING RETARDED, than that at this moment.

It's bad enough that the US government has nothing better to do with their money and time. Wee don't need other countries doing this as well. And who the fuck is the US government anyway and why do they care? Does Ukraine genuinely think 500+ stuffed fat asses of the governmental body are suddenly going to give a shit about their piss poor country, because they took out a piracy site?

Not only did they DDoS the site. To prevent it from coming back, they forced Demonoid's data center to terminate their contract. Demonoid didn't violate Ukranian law. They went out of their way to IP Block local Ukranian IP addresses so that they wouldn't break the law. And the governmental still intervened. Also, and I quote, as they intervened, “Some equipment was not seized, but now it does not work, and wee were forced to terminate the agreement with the site.” So essentially, the authorities just waltzed in and trashed shit.

It's just genuinely dumb. Ukraine is a fucking shithole country, and it's not moving up in the world because of this, or for any other reason. They can all drop of the fudgeing planet and die. Wee won't miss you. And has it really come to the point that you have nothing better to do than to bust people for piracy. Why not fix you're impoverished shithole of a country

Like it or not, The USA is the governor of the world while China is the governor of the Economy. If you're smaller then them, you make friends with them any way you can.

Funny how wee never saw "anon" go after the Ukrainian or US government when this happened, but everyone flipped spoon when a power cord for TPB was tripped over.

While I agree that it sucks that the Ukranian Government did this, you have to remember that it was just their Government being dicks. Do you think that the country as a whole (ie, the citizens) had anything to do with it?

I understand how you feel (because demonoid torrents were awesome), however, that doesn't mean you should post a tirade of abuse directed at the country and it's people because you now have to download Dragonball Z season 3982 at ridiculously slow speeds. You see what I'm getting at? It's just not cool bro.

Another example would be the whole Iraq/Terrorist confusion - yes, there are wanky terrorists out there from Iraq - it doesn't mean that the whole country adopts the extremist view (although, to be fair, a lot of them do).

My main point is, think about what you're saying man.
