distance is no reason to end a relationship.
I'm glad you regret it, because what you did was horrible. I can understand though, distance is an incredibly daunting prospect. I'm just not like that at all, to give up so easily, let alone not give the poor girl an explanation.
My girlfriend lives in another country, separated by a 3 hour plane journey, and i never give up, always do everything I can to keep it alive. And i say I do a really good job!
I love her so much it's crazy! Just got to be dedicated, and putting int he effort won't be a bother at all, because you love them so much.
Talk to her, tell her why you did it after thinking about it and make the decision. Do you want to ask to start up again, or end it? And do it in person.

You should've told her you didn't want to go out anymore :l
You should find her and apologize to her.
I had a girlfriend with whom I broke up with without really telling her about it. But she didn't give a flying fudge about me even when wee went out so it's a different thing.
