Well despite the apparent hate for LOL, I play both!

It is less complex yes... not dumbed down, just a bit more main-stream^^

The skill sealing is still really high though. And you still need 100s of hours to really learn it. I guess that why DOTA2 is not doing quite as well... its too complex for normal brains^^

Actually I'd say its the fact that more people are STILL playing the original Dota, hell it wasn't until recently that Dota2 got a patch earlier than Dota1. I think this is a step in the right direction as it seems valve is pushing Dota2 a lot harder in more important countries now.
