QJ.net Wrote:A few days ago, Team M33 from Russia made waves when they released PSP Custom Firmware v3.51 M33. But even while many are still downloading this latest CFW, word is out on another 3.51 project under development.

This project is being undertaken by a team of 10 developers (who wished to remain anonymous), who plan to create the CF by reverse-engineering one of Dark AleX's previous works.

What makes the project lucrative is that the dev team claims that once it's finished, their CF v3.51 will surpass even DA's works. Just keep posted in case wee pick up news on this mystery project, and hopefully the dev team's name.

The part I really like is "the dev team claims that once it's finished, their CF v3.51 will surpass even DA's works"   lets hope

lol that would make 3 dif 3.51's 1 out 2 coming lol
And...FIGHT!
that will be the next thing.
This was originally started by some of the guys over at the MC forums the day D_A left.  They had a thread where they were giving little updates in their progress, but they decided to close it and keep the rest under wraps until the release.  It sounds really good so far, and I'm not so sure that 3.51 XR is actually real (some of it sounds a little too good to be true for a first release), so it may just be these guys and M33 making CFW's.
i am waiting a little while and see what happens
Hmm, reversing DAX's works...  that's certainly an interesting approach.  People should really be reversing Sony's works :P
indeed
They're reverse engineering both, really. Otherwise 3.51 M33 wouldn't be around at all. It's more reverse engineering DAX's works to see how the whole 1.50 subset + later subset thing works, then using that knowledge on a newer firmware.

Then there's probably various fixes involved to get it to actually work, which would require reverse engineering bits of the new firmware. If it just involved using the same code, but replacing the "later" subset with the prxs of the newest firmware, DAX would have released the OEs a LOT faster.

Wee can always hope this team will crack the official ISO loader.
Well, maybe this competition will lead to more personalized features in the firmwares. Another thing I'm glad for is that when later firmwares come out there will be custom firmwares of them even without Dark Alex.
