Wrong, it will be the Wii all over again. Because like you said, it will compete with the "PS3 and Xbox360". As soon as the Xbox 720 and PS4 are out, it will be this generation all over again.

The Wii U is said to be "50% more powerful then the Xbox 360". 50% over 7 years is sad. Companies will try to make core games at the start, just like Wii, and see that the audience won't buy them.

Innovation is needed. But I prefer innovation in Cloud services (GeForce GRID, Steam) and storage, facial and body recognition over Wii U's innovations, and keeping connected to my console's media content on my smartphone while I'm on the road..

But wait a minute, the Wii has sold more than the Xbox/Ps3 and it has a nice selection of games.(you got to look for them)

Games aren't all about graphics. If that's all you really care about wouldn't it be better to invest on building your own powerful PC rather than buying locked hardware? Spoon even the 720 will be 4 years behind graphics when it's released.

Also this generation of gaming has been nothing but disappointing rehashes, generic brown n' bloom FPS, weeaboo kawaii jrpgs...ugh. Fighting over which console is better is stupid and a waste of time because they all have no games.

except for the Wii because the Wii has Xenoblade and Muramasa.♥

Nice selection of games? No. Even Nintendo themselves have admitted there are few great games on the Wii, and the releases are few are far between. Most of it is generic shovelware. The Wii has the worst attach rate of all 3 systems, again meaning no one is actually buying the games. If you're a developer of a AAA title, you go where the money is.

And I do have a powerful PC. Last I checked it was the strongest here :D (that's probably changed by now).
And graphics aren't everything, which is why I mentioned innovation, not graphics. But at the same time, the whole goal of improving our graphics cards is to make games as life-life visually as possible to better absorb you into the game.

sorry slushy <3 had to do it
Saw this coming:

"When you use two [Wii U Gamepads], the framerate halves to 30 frames per second."

And just like the Wii now:

"The problem is that the Wii U sometimes wants you to point the GamePad at the TV, but the GamePad doesn't have a Wii Remote-style pointing sensor. So, the gyro sensors in the GamePad have to calibrate a center position and then try to help the Wii U to remember that relative center point. Before long, it fails to track accurately."

So you can only have 2 players using the Wii U Gamepads? The rest will be using these Pro controllers or Wii controllers. Sure is "revolutionary"  Facepalm
Looking at this chat, seems like there's no point in games console competition.

or games consoles in general

Lol.

Thank god Apple doesn't have a controller, or everyone else would be sued and forced to use hexagonal controllers.
