... err... J.C. Staff.

Quote:A recent magazine scan revealed that the upcoming anime adaptation of Key's Little Busters! visual novel will be produced by the animation studio J.C. Staff. It was also revealed that the title will be directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa (Baby, Please Kill Me!, Hatsukoi Limited), written by Michiru Shimada (Jewelpet Twinkle, Shugo Chara!), and have character designs by Haruko Iizuka (Inu X Boku Secret Service, Ōkami-san & Her Seven Companions).

Later posts from official Key Twitter accounts assured fans that the game's original story would be closely adhered to, and that anime-only characters would not be added.

Nothing particularly impressive about the staff.. and the studio isn't exactly known for their great titles let alone animation quality. Nice to have the assurance from Key that the story won't be tampered with though.

The fact KyoAni aren't doing it is a downer though. No denying that.
Just read the original VN, it's translated and stuff, and almost guaranteed to be better than any adaptation, regardless of whichever company makes it.

You're probably right. I honestly don't have much hope for this now.. I just can't see a surprisingly great adaptation happening.

to be honest JC Staff have done a lot of great anime, but there's no denying i would much rather this have been a KyoAni project.

"a lot of great anime"? A few at best. Perhaps a lot of decent anime. Their best works can probably be attributed to the skill of the Director and certain staff - and like I noted previously, it's pretty hard to tell what to expect from the staff that have been announced - I don't like to be presumptuous though, at least their character designer has a decent record.

Even so - it doesn't change the fact that J.C.Staffs animation is generally very average and I think there was a high bar expected in terms of quality.. but now wee can only expect so much.

Why not P.A. Works or A-1 even? ~_~
